Keeping Pets Safe in Spring

Spring is here and it’s time to enjoy it with your pet. But you also need to keep them safe. Here are some tips to ensure their health & safety.

When spring cleaning, keep all cleaning products out of reach of pets. Even natural products can be harmful. Make sure you read the label for proper use and storage.

If you’re tackling home improvement projects, remember that products like paints and solvents can be toxic to pets. Read all labels and keep them hidden. Also be cautious of things like nails, staples, insulation, and power tools if you’re building something. Before embarking on a big project, put your pet in a safe room so they won’t be underfoot.

Take care with fertilizers, insecticides and herbicides, as they can be dangerous if you pet ingests them. Store them out of reach and follow label instructions carefully. Also be aware of plants that are toxic, like rhododendrons, azaleas, and lilies.
